Painter, Comic Artist, Illustrator
Hi! I am Yuko Rabbit, a Painter, Comic Artist, Illustrator, who live in Saitama, located north of Tokyo, Japan.
I also a Digital stuff lover, Rock music Enthusiast, Low-budget traveler and Dr. Pepper addict.
Though almost all of my Paintings are done on computers, I was a thoroughly traditional media artist before I bought a Wacom tablet. I used various medium; water colors, colored pencil, pen & ink.
The time that I decided to switch my principal medium is, I began to think I wanted to draw breathtaking digital artwork as the skilled artists on deviantART. Since then, I got into digital painting and have taught myself how to paint since 2007.
I've got inspired not only from painting, but music, typography, traveling, design, books, movies, conversations, stage art, underground culture, performances and my emotions. I always look for hints to make my work better. Other artists sometimes ask me who affected you most, but it's too difficult to list them because I was affected by hundreds of artists and I can hardly judge who is the MOST influential.
I would like to exhibit abroad In the near future. I'm looking for people who I can work with.
Commision are available. Do not hesitate to contact me If you are interested.
I'm working on a project for a magazine now. I will let you know when it is ready.
You can read one of my work online, "Blue Collar Anthem", which I drew in 2009, and which won honorable mention on Shinchosha New Comic Award. Though It is written in Japanese, perhaps you might see what's going on by graphic.
Before I started as Yuko Rabbit, I had done a few client works and personal commissions. My illustration is drawn the same way as my painting. I think there are not significant differences between them. If I had to describe it, Illustration is more catchy than painting, and I have to think about how it will be used.
I'm available as a freelancer. If you are a client considering this, please contact me!
Okay, I should admit myself as kind of Gleek, and KURT HUMMEL fan! (Are you in?)
I love his personality, the way of his living, and his being gay. YES, I SUPPORT GAY <3
I supposed "If senior grade Kurt danced 'Single Ladies' in the unitard that he worn on episode4 season1?", and drew.
How he changed in three years! This is gonna be his last season. I'll miss him.
I did it just for fun and relaxation, by the way

Maybe I should put this work in fanart categories on dA. The work is, in fact, an example artwork for my illustration portfolio.
I drew it on the assumption that I ordered an illustration work for "Shadowland: The Mediator" from a client.
Meg Cabot "The Mediator" series is my favorite in young adult novel. Of course, I read them all!

Title: Elizabeth Báthory
Year: April 2012
Size: 33.2 cm x 53.7 cm
Medium: Digital (Photoshop, Painter)
This is the paintring for a private commission.
The subject is Elizabeth Báthory, remembered as the "Blood Countess." She killed virgins, and took in the blood of them in order to retain her youth.
The request from my client was to picture Elizabeth, a mirror, roses, iron maiden, and eternal beauty.
I came up an idea to merge them with her bathing. It was really challenging.

Her name is Rabbity. Designed by me.
"Classic" reminds me humans history. What I depict in my mind is old bar. A boy pretending to be full-fledged, a charming prostitute making eyes at a man, a tense moment on gambling...these might be stories of a great many years ago, but in common to all ages.

Shibuya and Ueno is the railway stations in Tokyo.
This is the personification piece of them.
In my view, Shibuya is one of the core shapers of Japanese youth culture.
On the other hand, Ueno has many cultural facilities include the national museums and Tokyo University of the Arts.
Both of the stations are on the same line called Yamanote-line, and located far from each other.

Thank you, megane-koneko!
I really appreciate that you give me reactions on other places on the web! I mainly use Photoshop, sometimes with traditional media and Corel Painter.
I am considering making a painting tutorial, but I’m not sure when. Maybe I’ll do it when a magazine editor asks me, or my followers on twitter grow over 250, or a lot of people request me to, or… well, I’m not sure. Anyway, I’ll do it someday ;)
I love the dizzy and distorted guitar sound from the intro.
I didn’t listen to their song before. Somehow I didn’t like very much to see people going nuts when it came to Oasis.
After their breakup, I got a chance to borrow their best album. Geez, they’re awesome! I ended up finding that I was wrong. I have to admit there are always brilliant elements in things that make people crazy.
Czas na Supersonic - pierwszy singiel zespołu Oasis z płyty Definitely Maybe. Ten kawałek zyskał niemałą popularność na wyspach po raz pierwszy ukazując Brytyjczykom nowy zespół i nowy styl w muzyce rockowej - britpop.
Tekst:
I need to be myself
I can’t be no one else
I’m feeling supersonic
Give me gin and tonic
You can have it all but how much do you want it?
You make me laugh
Give me your autograph
Can I ride with you in your B.M.W ?
You can sail with me in my yellow submarine
You need to find out
‘Cos no one’s gonna tell you what I’m on about
You need to find a way for what you want to say
But before tomorrow
‘Cos my friend said he’d take you home
He sits in a corner all alone
He lives under a waterfall
No body can see him
No body can ever hear him call
You need to be yourself
You can’t be no one else
I know a girl called Elsa
She’s into Alka Seltzer
She sniffs it through a cane on a supersonic train
She made me laugh
I got her autograph
She done it with a doctor on a helicopter
She’s sniffin in her tissue
Sellin’ the Big Issue
She needs to find out
‘Cos no one’s gonna tell you what I’m on about
She needs to find a way for what she wants to say
But before tomorrow
‘Cos my friend said he’d take you home
He sits in a corner all alone
He lives under a waterfall
No body can see him
No body can ever hear him call
Glee is My favorite TV drama. I really enjoy every episode, and listen glee songs while working, and finally, drew two fan arts of Glee.
I like all characters. Especially, I like Kurt the best. His personarity inspires many people, including me.
Since Tumblr has a nice Q&A feature, why not use this?
I use an account on Formspring, but it sometimes makes me feel that it’s a little bit ridiculous, so I’ve just deleted it and moved the window here.
These are a few Questions and Answers on Formspring.Since Tumblr has a nice Q&A feature, why not use this?
Q:
How did you start up as a professional? Was it challenging for you to be comfortable with a certain style that both you and the people like?
A:
Yes, it was a challenge for me.
“Just be confident to introduce yourself and act as a professional.” I got this advice when I decided to start as a freelancer. However, it is true that it is easy to say but difficult to do. I had a very hard time; I could get only a few creative jobs. I make my living with my daily job (Now that it was fun, though).
I’m not quite sure about what kind of style people like. All I can do is to keep doing my best. :)
Q:
I really love your artwork! You are amazing~~ And my question: Did you learn to drawing, draw from models (eg at school) or taught yourself?
A:
Most of my skill was developed by teaching myself while watching tutorials by Gnomon and Massive black, and reading digital art related magazines and art theory books.
I don’t have an art degree, but I’ve learned basic sketching for two years & once a week in the college of animation. I’m so sorry that I was not so healthy, as I was absent from those classes many times, (my longest absence was roughly 3 months).

I loved this band so much. I really wanted to go their live, but the Rev (just watch from 0:57, isn’t he cool?), my favorite guitarist had been left the band in 2007.
His guitar playing is so sweet and stunning. I wish he were still in this band. I’m a fan of him.

You, Me & the Boatman by Quiet Company
This song is from their newest album, “WE ARE ARE ALL WHERE WE BELONG”. This is my favorite. They provide 6 free download-able songs from the album on the home page of Grooveshark. If you like it, you should go and get the song.
Lover, won’t you stay with me until the boatman comes for me and kindly carries me across the sea? May our legends live to tell how we burnt down Heaven and conquered Hell. But you and I should live forever, because you and I know how to live.
It’s you and me. Our love is bigger than ‘most everything. It stretched out further than our eyes could see when you gave your heart to me completely.
Oh, everybody knows what it looks like to be in love. Even the boatman knows it’s so but he still has to do his job. I know it’s tough, I know it sucks.
So lover won’t you stay with me, til the boatman comes…
Because I don’t care about the past or future, when this existence is probably all we have.
And so the lives we make are all that matter, so let’s live to love and love to live.
